A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Upper Arlington High School girls swim team as the 2025 Division I State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Upper Arlington High School girls swim team on winning the 2025 Division I State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The talented Upper Arlington High School girls swim team is, indeed, to be heartily commended for decisively earning this year’s Division I State Championship, its second straight state title. The squad’s performance, which included amassing 263.5 points, reflects the outstanding collective effort by a gifted group of athletes, and without exception, the team has devoted countless hours to training and practice in order to ensure peak conditioning. Clearly, this demanding regimen has paid handsome dividends; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Upper Arlington High School girls swim team have epitomized the power, poise, and precision that befit true champions. Despite sometimes grueling pressure, they have consistently maintained their composure and morale, exhibiting strength, speed, stamina, and agility in every challenging encounter. Time and again, they have risen to the occasion, amply demonstrating their unflagging determination, and their impressive maturity and finesse have earned them widespread respect, even among their most formidable rivals; and

WHEREAS, By weathering a rigorous schedule and prevailing over a host of adversaries, the members of the Upper Arlington High School girls swim team have learned much about dedication, self‑discipline, leadership, and perseverance. Their first-place finish is a measure of their stalwart commitment to the sport, and their indomitable spirit has made their families, friends, and coach, John Sands, incredibly proud; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Upper Arlington High School girls swim team on its brilliant 2024-25 season and wish its members continued success in all of their future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Upper Arlington High School girls swim team.
