A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Kate Simmons as a 2025 State Wrestling Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Kate Simmons on winning the 2025 Girls Wrestling State Championship in the 170-pound weight class; and

WHEREAS, A senior at Findlay High School, Kate Simmons has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in wrestling, and as a result, she pinned her challenger from Loveland High School to secure the State Championship title in the 170-pound weight class and finished this season with a 37‑7 record; and

WHEREAS, Kate Simmons’ accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and

WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay tribute to Kate Simmons on an exemplary 2024-2025 season. Indeed, the maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in wrestling will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Kate Simmons as a 2025 State Wrestling Champion and salute her as one of Ohio’s finest young athletes; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Kate Simmons.
