A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Independence High School girls golf team on winning the 2017 Division II State Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Independence High School girls golf team as the 2017 Division II State Champion; and

WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the Independence High School girls golf team have combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish themselves as a truly exceptional squad. With admirable dedication, team members, Sophia Trombetta, Morgan Pascarella, Lyndsay Blum, Madeline Mindzora, Allie Ksiazka, Emma McGreal, and Maddie Harper have worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in golf, and as a result, they shot a 652 to win this year’s Division II State Championship, as well as breaking the state record for low team score with 658 strokes; and 

WHEREAS, The Blue Devils’ achievements and leadership are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the players, their families, their school, their community, and their coach. The success of any athletic endeavor depends largely on the ability of the coach to provide both guidance and inspiration, and in leading his team to victory. Head Coach Karl Schuld has not only helped each athlete to develop her talents to the fullest, but also instilled in each a valuable sense of determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and

WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay tribute to the Blue Devils, their outstanding coach, and their phenomenal program for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have gained through their participation in golf will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Independence High School girls golf team on its brilliant season and wish its members and coach continued success in all of their future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Independence High School girls golf team.
