A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Justice Paul E. Pfeifer on his retirement.

WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Justice Paul E. Pfeifer on his retirement from the Ohio Supreme Court; and

WHEREAS,  During Paul Pfeifer’s distinguished career, he has discharged his solemn duties with expertise, efficiency, and compassion. Commencing his career as an assistant attorney general with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, he served as a partner in the law firm of Cory, Brown, and Pfeifer, an assistant county prosecutor, and a member of the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate before he was elected to the Ohio Supreme Court in 1992, where he has served for four terms. He has consistently represented his profession with dignity and competence, displaying exceptional legal acumen and an outstanding degree of personal commitment, and throughout his time on the bench, he has revealed himself to be a vigorous, intelligent man of impeccable integrity; and 

WHEREAS,  Paul Pfeifer has given willingly of his time and energy far beyond what was required or expected and has displayed a genuine commitment to improving the world around him. His love for Ohio and his sincere desire to serve its people to the best of his ability have shown him to be a truly concerned and responsible public servant; and

WHEREAS,  Election to public office is one of the highest honors the people in a democracy can bestow upon a fellow citizen, and Paul Pfeifer has clearly shown the potential of each person to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society. We are proud to note that it is through the unsurpassed efforts and deep commitment of conscientious individuals such as he that the State of Ohio continues to prosper and remains responsive to the diverse needs of its residents; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Justice Paul E. Pfeifer on his exemplary service to the Ohio Supreme Court and extend best wishes for success in his new position as executive director of the Ohio Judicial Conference; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Justice Paul E. Pfeifer.
