A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Gahanna Lincoln High School girls bowling team on winning the 2018 Division I State Championship.

WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Gahanna Lincoln High School girls bowling team as the 2018 Division I State Champion; and

WHEREAS,  The members of the Gahanna Lincoln High School girls bowling team are excellent young athletes, and they have become a truly exceptional squad. The Lions overcame a strong North Canton Hoover team with a score of 3-0 to claim this year’s Division I State Championship crown, the first state title in program history, and complete the 2017-2018 season with a 17-0 record in the Central Ohio High School Bowling Conference; and 

WHEREAS,  The unwavering commitment of the Gahanna Lincoln High School girls bowling team’s Head Coach Kelly Ferguson and Assistant Coach Dave Ferguson, is certainly deserving of praise, for they have demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the athletes under their charge to victory. Their skill is reflected in the squad’s outstanding accomplishment. Due largely to the tireless efforts of the coaching staff, the bowlers have established themselves as winners, both in and out of athletic competition, and they have earned the respect and admiration of all who know them; and

WHEREAS,  In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable tool. Through their participation in sports, the members of the Gahanna Lincoln High School girls bowling team have learned lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, recognize the Gahanna Lincoln High School girls bowling team for tremendous achievement and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Gahanna Lincoln High School girls bowling team.
