A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Denison University men’s swimming and diving team as the 2018 Division III National Collegiate Athletic Association Champion.

WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to honor the Denison University men’s swimming and diving team on placing first at the 2018 NCAA Division III Championship meet; and

WHEREAS,  Known as a driven and spirited squad, the Denison University men’s swimming and diving team has developed into an efficient group of highly skilled athletes whose talent is equaled only by their commendable display of teamwork. Under the able guidance of Coach Gregg Parini, the Big Red have conscientiously applied themselves to the quest for excellence in the pool, and they rose to the occasion at this year’s NCAA Division III championship, earning 596.5 points to conclude a 20-event competition and secure its fourth national  title in the program’s history; and 

WHEREAS,  The members of the Denison University men’s swimming and diving team have demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in all of their endeavors, and their athletic prowess is reflected in their outstanding success. Indeed, the team members have established themselves as winners, both in and out of competition, and they are certainly deserving of applause; and

WHEREAS,  The Denison University men’s swimming and diving team has exemplified the qualities necessary for excellence in sports, including strength, stamina, agility, and perseverance. Through their participation in athletic competition, the Big Red have learned lessons of hard work and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Denison University men’s swimming and diving team on its tremendous success and extend best wishes for future seasons; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Denison University men’s swimming and diving team.
