A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Discovery Montessori School chess team as a 2018 Ohio Elementary State Chess Champion.

WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Discovery Montessori School chess team on winning first place in the K-3 primary division at the 2018 Ohio Elementary State Chess Championship; and

WHEREAS,  The members of the Discovery Montessori School chess team are a remarkable group of young academicians, and they combined their talent and competitive spirit with exceptional knowledge of chess to win first place in the K-3 primary division at the Ohio Elementary State Chess Championship. Throughout long hours of practice and preparation, the team members have displayed a degree of determination and motivation of which they can be proud; and 

WHEREAS,  The success of the Discovery Montessori School chess team is an outstanding reflection not only on the members but also on their families, their coach, their school, and their community. The maturity and experience that the students have gained through their participation in chess will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; and

WHEREAS,  In preparing themselves for competition, the members of the Discovery Montessori School chess team have acquired abilities that will be of tremendous benefit to them throughout their lives. Participation in an activity such as chess provides an opportunity for youth to strive for excellence, and these fine individuals have admirably succeeded; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Discovery Montessori School chess team on its accomplishment and salute the members and coach as some of Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Discovery Montessori School chess team.
