A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Abigail Skinner on being named the 2017 Ohio Military Youth of the Year.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Abigail Skinner as the 2017 Military Youth of the Year by Ohio Military Kids; and

WHEREAS, A person of intelligence and integrity, Abigail Skinner has established high personal goals and has worked tirelessly to reach her potential. She has been active throughout Fairfield County, serving as an officer of three 4-H clubs, the president of the Fairfield County Junior Fair Board, and a camp counselor, along with being a member of various school organizations, including the yearbook club and the Fairfield Union FFA. Without question, she can be justifiably proud of her exemplary record of attainment, for she has distinguished herself among a select group of individuals whose accomplishments merit praise; and

WHEREAS, Every opportunity to celebrate the lofty ideals, versatile talents, and boundless enthusiasm of our nation’s youth is always welcome, and Abigail Skinner has ably demonstrated the wealth of kindness, courage, and industriousness that exists among those ranks. She is a model citizen and a striking reminder of the many ways in which our lives are enriched by the dedication and determination of our young adults. The skills that she has utilized in her earnest efforts will be a source of inspiration and admiration for many and will undoubtedly be vital to her success in the years to come; and

WHEREAS, Abigail Skinner’s noteworthy accomplishments clearly demonstrate the potential of each person to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society, and through her unfaltering commitment and altruistic nature, she has gained the respect and appreciation of all who know her. Indeed, her exemplary service to others will long stand as a hallmark worthy of emulation; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute Abigail Skinner on her recent accolade and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Abigail Skinner.
