A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Dublin Coffman High School girls 800-meter relay team as the 2017 Division I State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Dublin Coffman High School girls 800-meter relay team on securing the 2017 Division I State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Dublin Coffman High School girls 800-meter relay team are excellent young athletes, and consequently, the Shamrocks won this year’s Division I State Championship title, beating the competition with an astounding time of 1:38.34. The unwavering commitment demonstrated by the members and coach has earned them the esteem of many, and they are certainly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS, Coach Greg King has exhibited remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Dublin Coffman High School girls 800-meter relay team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad’s outstanding accomplishment. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the team members have established themselves as winners, both in and out of athletic competition, and he has gained the respect and admiration of all who know him; and

WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable tool. Through their participation in sports, the members of the Dublin Coffman High School girls 800-meter relay team have learned lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Dublin Coffman High School girls
800-meter relay team for exemplary achievement and extend best wishes for the years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Dublin Coffman High School girls 800-meter relay team.
