A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Tim May on being named the Ohio Sportswriter of the Year.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Tim May on receiving the Ohio Sportswriter of the Year Award from the National Sports Media Association; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure as The Ohio State University football beat reporter for The Columbus Dispatch, Tim May has consistently fulfilled his myriad responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and effectiveness. His unwavering dedication to informing the program’s  fanbase has been a sterling factor in his success, and his conscientious efforts have earned him this prestigious accolade; and

WHEREAS, Eager to serve his community, Tim May has covered the Buckeyes since 1984, tirelessly chronicling the highs and lows of the program, and he is held in regard for the many occasions on which he has given his time and energy far beyond what was required or expected. His record of achievement demonstrates a true commitment to professional excellence, and we are certain he will continue his history of accomplishment; and

WHEREAS, Tim May’s noteworthy contributions clearly show the potential of each person to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society, and through his unfaltering devotion and generous nature, he has earned the appreciation of all who know him. This coveted distinction represents the fantastic respect he has earned thanks to his brilliant work, not only in his community but across the nation, and we note with pride that it is through the exemplary efforts of dedicated journalists such as Tim May that our communities continue to grow and prosper and that the State of Ohio remains a fine place to live; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Tim May as the Ohio Sportswriter of the Year and salute him as an outstanding Ohioan; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Tim May.
