A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Victor Voinovich as a 2018 OHSAA Division I State Champion in wrestling.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Victor Voinovich on winning the 2018 Ohio High School Athletic Association Division I State Championship in the 145-pound weight class in wrestling; and

WHEREAS, Displaying exceptional form, ability, leadership, and dedication during the 2017 2018 season, Victor Voinovich has certainly distinguished himself as one of the most talented wrestlers in the state. A valued freshman member of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School wrestling team, he defeated a tough opponent from Mason High School with a 5-2 decision to claim the Division I State title in the 145-pound weight class; and

WHEREAS, Throughout intense training and preparation, Victor Voinovich has consistently demonstrated the talent, integrity, and motivation that are the hallmarks of a true champion. He has inspired his teammates, thrilled his fans, gained the respect of his opponents, and made his family, his coaches, and his school very proud; and

WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are honored to pay tribute to Victor Voinovich on an exemplary season. Indeed, the remarkable skill and experience he has gained through his participation in wrestling will greatly aid him in meeting challenges and forging a bright future; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Victor Voinovich on his exemplary success in wrestling and salute him as a standout Ohio athlete and citizen; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Victor Voinovich.
