A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Solon Middle School Science Olympiad team on winning the 2018 Ohio Science Olympiad Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Solon Middle School Science Olympiad team as the 2018 Ohio Science Olympiad Champion; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Solon Middle School Science Olympiad team are a remarkable group of young academicians, combining talent and competitive spirit with exceptional knowledge to establish themselves as truly exemplary students. With commendable dedication, they performed admirably against teams from across the state, and as a result, they won this year’s Ohio Science Olympiad and qualified for the national contest. Throughout long hours of practice and preparation, members Rebecca Liebson, Yash Kankariya, Michael Kong, Kesav Kosana, Alex Luo, Michelle Park, Ryan Li, Scott Zhao, Iris Yu, Rohan Jaiswal, Andrew Shao, Aditya Roy, Janaki Nair, Nishaan Patel, and Manikantha Puram and alternates Pranav Sivaram, Rachel Zhang, and Wesley Shen have displayed a degree of determination and motivation of which they can be proud; and

WHEREAS, In preparing themselves for this important contest, the members of the Solon Middle School Science Olympiad team have shown their affinity for learning and their potential to be superb leaders of tomorrow. Having worked diligently to sharpen their skills, they confronted competition with confidence and enthusiasm and distinguished themselves as worthy representatives of their school, community, and state; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Solon Middle School Science Olympiad team is a fitting tribute to the excellent leadership provided by its coaches Dave Brewer and Deepa Nair, who have given tirelessly of their time, energy, and expertise to guide the members. Under their astute guidance, the students have excelled in a variety of ways; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Solon Middle School Science Olympiad team on its state championship and salute the members and coaches as some of Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Solon Middle School Science Olympiad team.
