A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Mason High School boys tennis team as the 2018 OTCA Division I State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Mason High School boys tennis team on winning the 2018 Ohio Tennis Coaches Association Division I State Championship; and

WHEREAS, Each member of the Mason High School boys tennis team is an excellent young athlete, and Coach Mike Reid has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding this squad to victory. This season, the Comets accomplished their goal by securing the 2018 Ohio Tennis Coaches Association Division I State Championship title, the first in program history, and their unwavering commitment is certainly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Mason High School boys tennis team have established themselves as a truly exceptional team, and they have emerged as winners both in and out of athletic competition. Mike Reid’s skill as a coach is reflected in their outstanding success, and due largely to his tireless efforts, he has earned the respect and admiration of all who know him; and

WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. Through their participation in sports, the members of the Mason High School boys tennis team have learned lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, recognize the Mason High School boys tennis team on placing first at the 2018 OTCA Division I State Championship and applaud all those who contributed to the success of this fine team; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Mason High School boys tennis team.
