A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Sophia Easton on her first-place finish at the 2018 Educators Rising National Conference

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Sophia Easton, a student at Gahanna Lincoln High School and the Eastland-Fairfield Career and Technical Schools, on her outstanding performance in the lesson planning - STEM event at the 2018 Educators Rising National Conference; and

WHEREAS, An intelligent and motivated individual, Sophia Easton has striven to develop her capabilities, and as a result, she placed fourth in the lesson planning - STEM event at this year’s Educators Rising State Conference to qualify for the national contest, where she placed first in her event. Her accomplishments are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teachers, her schools, and her community; and

WHEREAS, Sophia Easton has worked tirelessly to increase her knowledge and skills. Through her remarkable efforts, she has set an example worthy of emulation, and she is deserving of high praise. By her decisive leadership, she has distinguished herself as a conscientious and responsible student, and we are certain that she will continue to embody the same unwavering dedication to excellence for which she has become known; and

WHEREAS, Sophia Easton has amply demonstrated her ability to meet challenges with enthusiasm and confidence, and she has displayed an exceptional willingness to work hard to attain superior results. She has exhibited a sincere desire to do her best in all of her endeavors so that she might fulfill her goals in the future, and this, coupled with her maturity and initiative, shows her potential to become one of tomorrow’s leaders; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Sophia Easton for superb achievement and salute her as one of Ohio’s finest young citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Sophia Easton.
