A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Abby Gase on placing first at the 2019 Parapan American Games.

WHEREAS,  The members of the House of Representatives of the 133rd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Abby Gase on winning first place in the women’s 100-meter backstroke S7 event at the 2019 Parapan American Games; and

WHEREAS,  This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Abby Gase has clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her mental and physical fortitude as a swimmer. She has exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the sports world, including courage, determination, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship; and 

WHEREAS,  In addition to securing a gold medal in the women’s 100-meter backstroke S7 event, Abby Gase also finished third in the women’s 50-meter freestyle, 50-meter butterfly, and 200-meter individual medley events at this year’s Parapan American Games, and in displaying such exceptional prowess, she has earned the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals. Competition in athletics has enabled her to learn much about dedication and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge her exemplary record of achievement; and

WHEREAS,  Swimming is an event that requires immense stamina and natural ability, and Abby Gase is to be commended for not only embodying these admirable qualities but also for her commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining her athletic goals, she has consistently exhibited the skill and integrity that are the hallmarks of a true champion; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 133rd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Abby Gase on her tremendous success at the 2019 Parapan American Games and extend best wishes for the years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Abby Gase.
