A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Mark Smithberger as the 2019 OASSA Principal of the Year.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 133rd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Mark Smithberger on receiving the 2019 Ohio Principal of the Year Award from the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators; and

WHEREAS, This distinguished honor is a fitting tribute to Mark Smithberger in recognition of the outstanding efforts he has displayed as the principal at Strongsville High School for the past six years, previously serving as an assistant principal and director of athletics for Bay Village Schools. Indeed, he has been tireless in his efforts to ensure that his students receive the best education possible, and he has brought vision and wisdom to his important work. He is certainly deserving of high praise; and 

WHEREAS, Motivated by a deep concern for young people, Mark Smithberger is to be commended for his exceptional commitment to education. He has supported countless students in all of their scholastic endeavors and has instilled within them an appreciation of the importance of learning that will benefit them throughout their lives; and

WHEREAS, Mark Smithberger’s unstinting contributions of time, talent, and seemingly inexhaustible energy to students and teachers alike have gained him the appreciation and esteem of everyone with whom he has been associated. As he reflects on his many accomplishments, he can take great satisfaction in knowing that he has become an inspiration to many; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 133rd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Mark Smithberger on his statewide accolade and salute him as one of Ohio’s finest educational administrators; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Mark Smithberger.
