A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Wellington School boys tennis team as the 2019 OTCA Division II State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 133rd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Wellington School boys tennis team on winning the 2019 Ohio Tennis Coaches Association Division II State Championship; and

WHEREAS, Each member of the Wellington School boys tennis team is an excellent young athlete, and Coach Thomas Haddow has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding this squad to victory. This season, the Jaguars accomplished their goal by securing the 2019 Ohio Tennis Coaches Association Division II State Championship title, their second consecutive such crown, and their unwavering commitment is certainly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Wellington School boys tennis team have established themselves as a truly exceptional group of athletes, and they have emerged as winners both in and out of competition. Thomas Haddow’s skill as a coach is reflected in their outstanding success, and due largely to his tireless efforts, he has earned the respect and admiration of all who know him; and

WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable tool. Through their participation in sports, the members of the Wellington School boys tennis team have learned lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to them throughout their lives; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 133rd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, recognize the Wellington School boys tennis team on placing first at the 2019 OTCA Division II State Tournament and applaud all those who contributed to the success of this fine squad; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Wellington School boys tennis team.
