A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Fairfield Union High School FFA forestry management team as a 2019 State Career Development Event Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 133rd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Fairfield Union High School FFA forestry management team on placing first at the State Career Development Event; and

WHEREAS, The Fairfield Union High School FFA forestry management team, which is comprised of Nick Barrett, Ben Beiter, Josh Starner, Hannah Beyer, Kaitlyn McPeek, Trevor Thomas, Seth McCrady, and Jacob Wolford, is a dedicated and committed collection of students, and it is richly deserving of recognition for winning first place at this year’s FFA State CDE and advancing to national competition, where it placed twelfth. These fine individuals have displayed a degree of determination and motivation of which they can be proud, and they have set an example of excellence that is worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS, FFA combines the wisdom and leadership of adulthood with the enthusiasm and optimism of youth so that our young people will be better prepared to assume meaningful, rewarding roles in society. It is certainly encouraging to know that the future of Ohio agriculture lies, to a large extent, in the capable hands of conscientious individuals such as the members of the Fairfield Union High School FFA forestry management team; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Fairfield Union High School FFA forestry management team warrant the highest praise, for under the leadership of their advisor, Judd Baker, they have demonstrated exceptional diligence in preparing for the rigors of competition. The maturity and experience these students have gained by winning the state championship and proceeding to their first national competition will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of tomorrow, and we are certain that due to their participation in FFA, their futures hold great promise; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 133rd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Fairfield Union High School FFA forestry management team on its recent achievements and salute the members and advisor as some of Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Fairfield Union High School FFA forestry management team.
