A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Leah Reichman on setting a world powerlifting record.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 134th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Leah Reichman on setting a world record at the 2021 American Powerlifting Federation Cincinnati Women’s Pro/Am competition; and

WHEREAS, A remarkable individual, Leah Reichman has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly superb athlete. At this year’s American Powerlifting Federation Cincinnati Women’s Pro/Am competition, she set an all-time world record in the squat event with a lift of 399.1 kilograms, and she attained a competition best total of 737.1 kilograms across all her events; and

WHEREAS, Leah Reichman has conscientiously applied herself to the quest for excellence, training and practicing diligently in order to ensure peak conditioning. Time and again, she has risen to the occasion, maintaining her morale, composure, and good sportsmanship, and she has gained the respect of even her most determined rivals. Clearly, her enthusiastic involvement in powerlifting has enabled her to learn much about dedication, self-discipline, and leadership, and in the process, her exceptional prowess has made her family and friends very proud; and

WHEREAS, Leah Reichman has pursued her athletic goals in a painstaking manner, never failing to overcome even the most seemingly insurmountable obstacle, and she has amply demonstrated how very much a persistent and committed person can accomplish. Understandably, the strength, stamina, and skill that she has exhibited have earned her many admirers; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 134th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Leah Reichman on setting a world record and salute her as one of Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Leah Reichman.
