A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Dev Ahuja as a 2021 Ohio Speech and Debate Association Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 134th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Dev Ahuja on placing first in the United States extemporaneous speech category at the 2021 Ohio Speech and Debate Association State Finals; and

WHEREAS, A sophomore member of the Solon High School speech and debate team, Dev Ahuja has combined civic concern and dedication with the utmost professionalism to establish himself as a dynamic young mind. Through his outstanding efforts at this year’s Ohio Speech and Debate Association State Finals, he has truly proven himself to be a conscientious and hard-working Ohioan; and

WHEREAS, Willingly giving of his time, energy, and abilities far beyond what was required or expected, Dev Ahuja has striven to better the world around him, and he has earned the respect and esteem of the entire community for his accomplishments. We are certain that in the years to come, he will continue to demonstrate the same unwavering commitment to excellence for which he has become known, and he is truly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS, The knowledge and self-confidence Dev Ahuja has gained through his participation in events such as the Ohio Speech and Debate Association State Finals will no doubt be of great benefit to him throughout his lifetime. We look forward to his future contributions to our state and society; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 134th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Dev Ahuja on his recent attainment and salute him as an outstanding Ohio citizen; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Dev Ahuja.
