A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the New Bremen High School football team
as the 2022 Division VII State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the New Bremen High School football team on winning the 2022 Division VII State Championship; and

WHEREAS, Known as a driven and spirited squad, the members of the New Bremen High School football team have developed into an efficient group of truly tremendous athletes whose skill on the gridiron is equaled only by their commendable display of teamwork. Their achievements are a justifiable source of pride not only for them but also for their families, their coaches, including Head Coach Chris Schmidt, and the entire community; and 

WHEREAS,  Each member of the New Bremen High School football team is, indeed, an exceptional athlete, successfully combining personal ability and spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship. As a result of each player’s athletic prowess, the Cardinals beat a tough Warren John F. Kennedy squad by a score of 38-6 to win the Division VII state title and completed the season with an impressive 13-3 record, distinguishing themselves as one of the finest teams in Ohio; and

WHEREAS, Few sports embody the spirit of teamwork more than football, and teams such as the one from New Bremen High School exemplify the qualities necessary for excellence in sports, including strength, stamina, agility, and perseverance. Throughout long hours of practice and competition, the Cardinals have consistently demonstrated the talent and motivation that are the hallmarks of a championship squad; therefore be it

RESOLVED,  That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the New Bremen High School football team on securing the 2022 Division VII State Championship and salute the members as fine athletes; and be it further

RESOLVED,  That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the New Bremen High School football team.
