A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Chancellor Randy Gardner
on his retirement from the Ohio Department of Higher Education.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Randy Gardner on his tremendous service as chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education; and

WHEREAS, Diligent and painstaking in all his endeavors, Randy Gardner has achieved a noteworthy record of service to the residents of Ohio, and he has distinguished himself as an outstanding administrator, an inspirational leader, and a devoted advocate for education. Displaying sound judgment, a stellar work ethic, and valuable job skills, he has shown a sincere commitment to serving the state in an efficient and professional manner; and

WHEREAS, A former high school history and government teacher and member of the Ohio Senate and House of Representatives, Randy Gardner has served as chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education since 2019, and he has brought to this position a wealth of experience gained during his forty-two years of public service. By approaching difficult decisions and shouldering responsibilities with confidence, he has earned the respect and admiration of all those with whom he has worked, and he has set a fine example that is worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS, To his credit, Randy Gardner has demonstrated how very much a conscientious, industrious person can accomplish, and he can be proud that his unflagging dedication to his office has inspired many who know him to devote themselves similarly. In the wake of his retirement, he can rest assured that his contributions will not be forgotten and that he will be sorely missed; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to Chancellor Randy Gardner on the occasion of his retirement and extend best wishes for health and happiness in the years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Randy Gardner.
