A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring The Ohio State University dance team
as the 2024 College Nationals Division IA Jazz Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate The Ohio State University dance team on placing first in the jazz category at the 2024 Universal Dance Association Division IA National Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Ohio State University dance team has accomplished a tremendous feat in securing this year's Universal Dance Association Division IA National Champion title in the jazz category, its fifth such crown in six years, as well as second-place honors in the pom category, and this triumph marks the culmination of countless hours of practice and preparation. The Buckeyes’ strong performance, combined with an adept drive to succeed, has led the squad to this outstanding achievement, and the group has earned the appreciation and admiration of many; and

WHEREAS, The accomplishments and development of The Ohio State University dance team are fine examples of what can be attained by a group of hard-working young people supported by a dedicated coaching staff. Throughout extensive conditioning and training, the members have developed into a dynamic group of competitive dancers, and they are deserving of acknowledgement; and

WHEREAS, With great admiration, we congratulate the individuals who comprise The Ohio State University dance team, for they have overcome many formidable opponents and displayed tremendous prowess. Indeed, we are confident that as they meet their future challenges, they will take with them the lessons of comradery, diligence, and discipline; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend The Ohio State University dance team on its outstanding performance and praise the strength of this program and its participating students; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to The Ohio State University dance team.
