A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the New Bremen High School football team as the 2022 Division VII State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the New Bremen High School football team for winning the 2022 Division VII State Championship; and

WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of Coach Chris Schmidt, the New Bremen High School football team has proven to be a talented and superbly conditioned squad, one that has gained the respect of fans and opponents alike for the highly motivated play of its members. Throughout the season, the Cardinals worked diligently to condition, train, and execute plays flawlessly, and as a result, they won the Division VII State Championship title for the second time in three years; and

WHEREAS, Known as a driven, spirited team, the Cardinals have developed into a remarkably efficient group of athletes whose strong offensive performance combined with the adept skill of its defense has led the crew to victory. They are not only a credit to their families and their school, but they are also a reflection of the superb coaching ability of their mentor, Chris Schmidt; and

WHEREAS, The road to victory and a championship title is a difficult one, requiring ability, endurance, teamwork, and a positive attitude on the part of players and coaches alike. The members of the New Bremen High School football team have exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both on and off the field, including courage, discipline, integrity, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship, and their efforts have earned them the admiration of all those who have witnessed these outstanding athletes in action; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the New Bremen High School football team for tremendous athletic achievement and commend all those associated with the outstanding success of this exceptional team; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the New Bremen High School football team.
