A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring Post Boy Farm as the 2023 Ohio Forestry Association Tree Farm of the Year.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Post Boy Farm on being presented with the 2023 Ohio Tree Farm of the Year Award by the Ohio Forestry Association; and
WHEREAS, The Ohio Tree Farm of the Year Award recognizes certified tree farms that promote the growing of renewable forest resources, protect environmental interests, and increase public understanding of the benefits of productive forestry. This prestigious distinction is a fitting tribute to Post Boy Farm, for it has consistently demonstrated professionalism and expertise and has followed a management plan set up with a certified forester; and
WHEREAS, Post Boy Farm includes 210 acres planted in trees, chiefly hardwoods like oak and locust, and its success is a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on the operation itself but also on its astute proprietors, Mike and Patsy Schmuki, and on the entire community. Due to its outstanding effort and initiative, this remarkable enterprise has earned the esteem and appreciation of many, and it is truly deserving of high praise; and
WHEREAS, Preserving our natural surroundings has never been more important to our well being than it is today, and Post Boy Farm has striven to promote the sound management, protection, and enhancement of the area’s natural resources. We are certain that in the years to come, it will continue to display the same unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship for which it has become known; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Post Boy Farm on its recent accolade and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Post Boy Farm.
