A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring The Ohio State University dance team on winning the 2024 UDA DIA Jazz National Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend The Ohio State University dance team as the 2024 Universal Dance Association Division IA National Champion in the jazz category; and

WHEREAS, The talented members of The Ohio State University dance team are, indeed, to be acknowledged for their remarkable fitness and competitive drive, qualities that have figured prominently in the squad’s impressive performance at this year's Universal Dance Association Division IA Nationals. To their credit, these fine athletes could always be counted on to execute even the most demanding routines with agility, precision, exuberance, and grace, and as a result, they won first place in the jazz category, their fifth such title since 2018, and second place in the pom category; and

WHEREAS, Under the expert guidance of their coaches, the members of The Ohio State University dance team have trained tirelessly in order to ensure peak physical and mental conditioning, and their exceptional prowess has earned them many admirers. Participation in this exciting activity has enabled them to learn much about creative expression, self-respect, leadership, and dedication, and clearly, the experience they have acquired is certain to benefit them in the years to come; and

WHEREAS, Their enthusiastic spirit and love of dance have led the members of The Ohio State University dance team to take part in national competition, and they have served as an inspiration to their peers. Their accomplishments are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on them but also on their families, their coaches, their school, and the State of Ohio, and they are truly worthy of recognition; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud The Ohio State University dance team on its national championship and offer best wishes for continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to The Ohio State University dance team.
