A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring The Ohio State University synchronized swimming team on being named the 2023 U.S. Collegiate National Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to The Ohio State University synchronized swimming team on securing the 2023 U.S. Collegiate National Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Ohio State University synchronized swimming team has attained a tremendous feat in securing its second consecutive national crown, the thirty-fourth in program history, and the culmination of an exemplary season was marked by earning two routine titles, an A Figures win, and four second-place finishes to collect 95 points at this year’s U.S. Collegiate National Championships. The Buckeyes’ strong performance, combined with an adept drive to succeed, has led the squad to this outstanding victory, and the group has earned the respect and admiration of many; and

WHEREAS, The accomplishments and development of The Ohio State University synchronized swimming team are excellent examples of what can be achieved by a group of hard-working young women supported by a dedicated coaching staff such as the one led by Holly Vargo Brown and a committed group of sports families. Throughout extensive conditioning, training, and competition, the team members have developed into dynamic competitors, and they are deserving of acknowledgement; and

WHEREAS, With great admiration, we congratulate the swimmers who comprise The Ohio State University synchronized swimming team, for they have overcome many formidable opponents and displayed tremendous athletic prowess. Indeed, we are confident that as they meet their future challenges, they will take with them the lessons of comradery, hard work, and discipline; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, heartily applaud The Ohio State University synchronized swimming team as the 2023 U.S. Collegiate National Champion and praise the strength of this program and its participating athletes; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to The Ohio State University synchronized swimming team.
